We are blessed at First Christian Church to have a staff that is Spirit led, biblically sound, servant oriented, and passionate about the message of Jesus Christ. They work diligently to grow the local congregation as well as the Kingdom of God as a whole.

  • Senior Pastor

    Pastor Mark Reid was called to First Christian Church in August of 2019. Mark has over 20 years of ministry experience in youth and senior Pastor ministry. He has a Bachelors of Theology from International Bible College in San Antonio, Texas. A Master of Arts in Leadership from Luther Rice Seminary in Lithonia, Georgia and a Masters  of Divinity from Luther Rice Seminary. Mark has a passion for preaching and serving. He has been married to his beautiful wife Mekella for 17 years and has three children (Madison 16, Mia 15 and Aiden 9) Mark enjoys his family time, going to the beach, playing basketball and golf, and anything UNC-Chapel Hill!

  • Samuel Wente and his wife Cortney relocated from Long Island, NY, where they served before being called to First Christian Church in July 2021. They now live in Hubert together. As a Youth Pastor, and Worship Leader, he has over 5 years experience ministering and serving in the Church. Samuel began seminary studies in 2018 at Luther Rice College & Seminary, and will soon be pursuing his Master’s Degree. He loves his New York Mets, Theology, and playing and writing music.

  • Debbie Rogers joined the staff January 2021 as the Secretary of First Christian Church. The Navy brought her husband Steve, who is currently active duty and the family to Richlands in 2007. The children  (Brandon, Austin, and Courtney) were active in Scouting, which brought them to join First Christian Church in 2010. Debbie enjoys crafts, golfing, bike riding, animals, and getting to know people.

  • MusicIAN

    Kay Mohn Payne joined our staff in March 2010. She has a long heritage at First Christian Church as her mother, Lyde Mohn, served for many years as church pianist. After retiring from teaching, Kay has dedicated her life to ministering through music. She leads the adult choir and handbell choir, as well as assists with funerals and weddings when requested.

    Kay is blessed to be surrounded by her three daughters and two grandchildren, as well as several of her siblings.

    She enjoys playing bridge with her friends, watching her daughters prosper, and spoiling her grandchildren.

  • Church Custodian

    Gwendolyn Morton joined the staff May 2019. While she is new to the position at our church, she also runs a cleaning business on Camp Lejeune . So, she is not new to the job in the least bit. Her uplifting personality is such a joy to have around the church.

    Gwen enjoys serving and being an active part at her church and spending time with the grandchildren.
